What does SpaGuard Optimizer Plus do?

How do I use Optimizer Plus?

  1. After filling your hot tub with fresh water, add 200g (3.5 capfuls) of Optimizer Plus for every 1,000L of hot tub water.
  2. Run the pump for 15 minutes.
  3. Do not shock hot tub for at least 4 hours.

How much BioGuard optimizer should I add?

What does shocking a spa do?

Shocking a spa means applying an ample dose of chlorine (sodium dichlor) or non-chlorine shock (potassium monopersulfate or MPS). One purpose of this treatment is to break-down organic waste contaminants which cause odor and cloudy water. After treatment, water quality and clarity is often completely restored.

How do you use enhanced shocks?

Apply product at a rate of 3 tablespoons per 500 gallons. With pump in operation, apply the entire treatment dosage at one time. Apply directly to spa water only. Do not add through a skimmer or any automatic dispersing device.

What does adding borax to a pool do?

Borax is tremendously effective at stabilizing alkalinity and acting as a pH buffer in swimming pools. While they do raise pH levels, they also raise the total alkalinity of the water. Increased alkalinity causes the pH level to fluctuate, which defeats the purpose of adding chemicals to stabilize the water.

Is SpaGuard a good product?

This is a great product! I have a large Sundance Spa and put it in after heavy use or about twice per week when I see the water getting cloudy. I use the recommended amount for my water capacity.
