What is a P0105 code mean?
What the P0105 code means. P0105 is the general code for a problem with the MAP circuit having an electrical failure or malfunction. The MAP sensor is an integral part of the fuel injection system and provides signals to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) for smooth operation and good fuel economy.
Where is the MAP sensor located on a diesel engine?
The MAP sensor is typically located on the intake manifold, either next to or on the throttle body itself. (On a forced-induction engine, the MAP sensor can be found on the intake tract before the turbo.)
Can a MAP sensor affect the transmission?
A faulty MAP sensor can cause late, harsh shifts, early / soft shifts, or even prevent the transmission from shifting at all. When the PCM fails, the transmission can stop shifting, shift harsh or soft, or cause complete transmission failure. Some vehicles use TCM (transmission control module) rather than PCM.
Does a diesel have a MAP sensor?
The suction is caused by throttling in spark ignition engines and is not present in diesel engines. This is often called vacuum pressure when referring to internal combustion engines. In short, in a standard atmosphere most boost sensors will read one atmosphere less than a MAP sensor reads.
What is fault code for Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTI?
Hi all, this 2007 Astra 1.7 Cdti (Engine code Z17dth)intermittently loses power and goes into limp home where it will not rev above 3500, using Op-Com I got code p0105 “barometric pressure not plausible with boost pressure”, it deleted ok and of course on a run it was great, and all readings from Op-Com as regards boost pressure etc etc were fine.
What should the boost pressure be on a Vauxhall Astra?
With KOEO check live data barometric pressure against boost pressure, they should read about the same, approx 1000 mb. Ok MA will try that, on road test they were both giving good readings, Baro of course was reading about 1 bar, boost varying as you would expect but of course the car was fine at this time, thanks, Jim.
What causes a DTC on a Vauxhall Astra?
Ok MA will try that, on road test they were both giving good readings, Baro of course was reading about 1 bar, boost varying as you would expect but of course the car was fine at this time, thanks, Jim. Often this DTC is caused because the map-sensor shows a value BELOW the baro-value.
Why is my Vauxhall Astra valve not open?
It is also used to restrict air when the particulate filter is being regenerated. During normal operation (not regenerating) the valve should be completely open. If such a valve closes during normal driving the pressure in the manifold can drop below the baro-pressure.
