Can I pay council tax with Amex?
Once you are signed up, you can pay your council tax bill using your American Express card. American Express cannot be used to pay private individuals under any scenario, even if you have an invoice. You are perfectly fine to use American Express with Billhop for paying companies, HMRC, your council tax etc.
How do I pay someone with American Express?
Go to your app’s account settings, choose “Send and Split,” select “Send,” and then “Manage Balance” to add funds. Whatever amount you choose to add will appear as any other charge on your American Express card’s billing statement. There is no fee to do this but you won’t earn rewards on the transaction.
How do you cancel a direct debit on American Express?
Just look for the payment you’d like to cancel. If it says ‘Processing’ you may be able cancel your payment. Click the payment to expand the details and then click ‘Cancel Payment’.

If you want to pay off more than those five purchases in a day, consider making one larger payment instead of several small ones.
