Is it worth it to use a shield in Skyrim?
Shields are pretty good due to their usefulness. Especially when a shield bash can disrupt a dragon’s fire or frost breath. And one of the perks gives, if I remember correctly, a 50% resistance against fire,frost and magic when you block with a shield.
Does shield wall work with 2H Skyrim?
Shield Wall does improve blocking with 2H weapons. The various “bashing” perks on the right side of the tree also work with 2H weapons.
Is blocking good Skyrim?
Blocking isn’t useless, you’re just doing it wrong. Shield bash is used to stagger enemies leaving them open to attack, and the block slow down effect… Seriously have no idea what your problem with block is as it is actually very useful.
Does the block skill effect blocking with weapons?
Having skill in the Block combat art allows the Dragonborn to parry or absorb melee and archery attacks with shields and two-handed weapons. Can you block dual wield Skyrim?
No there is not. The only way to block/parry attacks, is to have either only one weapon, or a weapon and a shield, and then press (and hold) right mouse button. Dual wield in game-land is always a tradeoff: you are doubling your offense in exchange for defense.
Can you block with a sword in Skyrim?
It is possible to block with one handed weapon as long as your left hand is empty. You cannot block while dual-wielding. Blocking is slightly less effective with a weapon than with a shield.
Is there any reason to use light armor in Skyrim?
Initially Light armor provides less protection than Heavy Armor, however, due to the maximum in-game armor cap, it will eventually provide just as much protection as Heavy armor. It also weighs less, slows the wearer less, and allows for much quieter sneaking.
