How do you format a GMAT essay?
Your GMAT essay should follow standard 4-5-paragraph essay structure: introduction, 2-4 body paragraphs, and conclusion. Each body paragraph should clearly address a specific (and different) aspect of the prompt. For example, you might address a different logical fallacy in each body paragraph.
How many words should GMAT essay be?
To hit around 500 words, you should have written about 30-35 sentences of 15-20 words each. With sufficient practice, your essays will reach the desired mark and you will not have to actually count the number of words on the day of your exam.
What is AWA essay?
The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) measures your ability to think critically and communicate your thoughts. During the AWA section of the GMAT, you will be asked to write an essay in which you will analyze the reasoning behind a given argument. You will have 30 minutes to complete the essay.

How is your GMAT score calculated?
Your overall composite GMAT score is calculated by combining your sub-scores from the GMAT Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning sections. Each of those sections is reported on a scale from 6 to 51 points, and the composite score is graded on a scale of 200 to 800 points.
