How should I dress for an African safari?

Having considered what to wear on safari, here’s a selection of the clothes I recommend taking:

1. 3 pairs of Kuhl pants .
2. A pair of shorts.
3. 4 cotton t-shirts, in neutral colors.
4. A few long sleeves shirts , for the colder days and for the night.
5. 2 long sleeves shirts .
6. A light yet very warm jacket .
7. A scarf and a hat.

How can I make my safari look fashionable?

You’re better off with neutrals, like green, khaki, white, or light blue—especially because it gets hot. I’d recommend cute khaki trousers, lightweight lounge pants, breathable joggers, light sweats, or even leggings (but remember to avoid black.)

We find that light trail shoes and hybrid shoe/sandals (Keen, Teva, Merrel, North Face, HiTec, Garmont, Salomon etc) are adequate for regular travel and normal safari conditions. Even fly-camping trips and walking trails on fairly rough terrain don’t warrant hiking boots when conditions are dry.
