What is the difference between Farmall A and Super A?
The big difference is that there is nothing under the gas tank on an A. A Super A will almost universally have a hydraulic block with lift arms under the gas tank. As with any identifying features, you have to consider that the tractor is 60+ years old, and anything could have been changed.

Super A’s didn’t get a “factory” water pump until the Super A-1’s in 1954. Prior to that, all Super A’s were thermosyphon and had no water pump. NOW……you can install a water pump, from a Super A-1 all the way up to an early 230, on a Super A, or for that matter an A, B, or C.
